In this post, I’m sharing a little bit about where we find ourselves right now at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism — some of our big accomplishments of 2025, and what’s coming up in 2026 and beyond. But first, for those of you newer to The School of Evolutionary Herbalism, I want to share what we’re all about.

What We Do at The School of Evolutionary Herbalism
At the root of everything we do at Evolutionary Herbalism, it all comes down to a single goal and intention, and that is to help you work with the healing power of the plants to heal yourself, your family, your community, and your patients. While that is the root, there are many branches of the system I teach, from spagyric alchemy and medical astrology to Ayurveda, modern science, and clinical herbalism. All the while striving to maintain a balance of the spiritual and scientific, the clinical and esoteric.
My goal is to share quality information on understanding people and plants so that you are equipped to bring about the deepest levels of healing possible. Whether you’re applying what you learn to yourself, your family and friends, your community, or your clinic. Whatever your scale of practice with the medicinal plants, healing is my goal for you. Whether you engage with the free content we share on The Plant Path or you come deeper into the fold and enroll in one or more of the six Evolutionary Herbalism courses that we offer, my goal is to provide you with quality herbal education.
As an herbalist, I’m constantly growing, too. I don’t know it all, and I humbly accept that. I actually prefer it that way, because it would be boring if there wasn’t anything new to learn! I jokingly, but also seriously, say that I will forever be learning about Chamomile, Nettle, and Calendula. Even with seemingly simple herbs, there’s always something new to learn. I believe strongly in continuous development and refinement, so my teachings are constantly evolving, changing, and growing.
The way I see it, there is a universal pattern in nature that herbal and medical traditions worldwide have recognized. That is at the basis of everything I aim to teach here — the balance of science and spirituality, the clinical and the esoteric. I don’t see the science side as being antithetical to the spiritual side or vice versa. The physical and psychospiritual sides of healing are equally important. The plants have the capacity to address the full spectrum, and that deeply informs my approach. I’m interested in uniting the spiritual and the scientific, the world and the earth, the above and the below, the inside and the outside. I like to teach not only about the herbs, but also what I see as the perennial philosophy, the natural laws of the cosmos, of nature, of the human being, and of the plants.

What We Don’t Do …
I also want to share with you what you won’t get here at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. You won’t get any B.S., no drama, no trash-talking, and no big political commentary. I’m all about encouragement, uplifting, helping, and healing, doing something positive so that when you engage with our content you learn something good and hopefully receive some insight, inspiration, and a good feeling from it.
Sometimes, out there in the world, people like to put each other down. People have disagreements, and some like to publicly voice theirs, or their way of seeing, which is antithetical to another way of seeing. For those of you who have followed me for some time, you’ll notice that I don’t speak ill of other people. I don’t put people down for doing things differently from me. I don’t shame people for having a different opinion. I always aim to speak and think positively about others because I think there’s already too much negativity, drama, and distraction out there in the world, especially on the internet. Everybody needs encouragement. Everybody needs to be uplifted. If we claim to be herbalists and healers, physicians and doctors, we have to uplift people. If we want to help people heal, we shouldn’t speak about them negatively or create drama. So, you won’t get that here at The School of Evolutionary Herbalism. We will encourage you on your plant path and do what we can to help you. With that said, I want to give you a snapshot of some of the work we’ve done over the last year, of which I’m particularly proud.

What We Accomplished in 2025
On The Plant Path, our free blog, podcast, and YouTube channel, we published over 33 hours of 100% free herbal content. That equates to a solid weekend workshop’s worth of free educational material.
We served over 32,000 people through our in-depth free workshops and mini-courses. These are more comprehensive free trainings that we offer, so I was really proud to see how many folks we were able to impact.
I answered over 120 student questions in “Tea With Sajah,” where I sit down with a list of questions and answer them one by one to support my students. We record that and put it up in our student portal for folks to listen to. This is equal to over eight hours of exclusive content for Evolutionary Herbalism students.
We added more than 41 hours of content to our Materia Medica Monthly program this year. I was pretty blown away by that — that’s a full week’s worth of content. That includes the herbal actions map and single-plant monographs.
We hit over 65,000 subscribers on YouTube. For those of you who watch on YouTube, thank you for liking and subscribing. I really appreciate it. For those of you who are not subscribed to YouTube, I encourage you to do so. It really helps us. I’ve been focused on growing YouTube, and I hope to hit the 100,000 mark in 2026.
We had 157,000 followers on Instagram, which blows me away. For those of you on Instagram, thank you very much. I hope you enjoy everything that we share over there. Can we get to 200,000 in 2026? That’s my lofty goal.
We hit 100,000 followers on Facebook, so for those of you who follow our content on Facebook, my deepest gratitude to you for that. We could not have achieved this without you all, and it never ceases to amaze me the level of positive impact that we’re able to make on so many people’s lives, sharing the good teachings and the healing of the plants.
I finished filming a brand new version of my hallmark course, Alchemical Herbalism. This was the first Evolutionary Herbalism program that I taught way back in 2010–2011. It took me two years to refilm it, and we’re really excited for a relaunch of this program.
I revamped the Botanical Constellations course, and I’ve got 10 out of the 12 signs all done, so it’s almost finished. This year, I’m excited to be digging into the new version of Astro-Herbalism and revamping that program.
We’re producing more content than ever with the help of our new copywriting and editing team. We brought on two fantastic people to write, edit, and translate my videos into well-written articles for both course content and our free content. This was a big decision — whether to support artificial intelligence or human intelligence. Most businesspeople would probably say I made a bad move by hiring two people to do this. But that’s the decision I made because I have a problem with artificial intelligence. I highly value human intelligence, creativity, and human interaction. We have a commitment here at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism to never ever use artificial intelligence-generated content. Everything you see, hear, and read comes from my brain and is then edited and refined by other human brains.
We started publishing our newsletter, The Monthly Distillate, this year to share our content in a single, easy-to-digest format. It’s perfect for folks who prefer one email a month and for those who want a roundup of everything they’ve missed.
We launched a brand new membership site in 2025, which was both exciting and stressful, but nevertheless a monumental moment for us here at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism. Our membership platform really needed an update, so we spent three years rebuilding a new one, and we love it. The design is beautiful, it’s smooth to navigate, and we’ve got our student tea house in there, which is our in-house social media platform. We added gamification to our courses, where you earn points as you complete course content, and you can use that to unlock secrets within the portal. Anytime tech is involved, it comes with challenges, so there were some hiccups along the way, but things have smoothed out, and we’re happy to be on the other side of that and that our students are enjoying it.
I taught my first multi-day live workshop in over seven years at The Art of Living Retreat Center outside Boone, North Carolina. This was the first four-day workshop I’ve taught since we lived on our land in Oregon. It was a lot of fun, so thanks to those who came out. For those of you who want more live workshop experiences, I’ve got good news!

What’s Coming in 2026 and Beyond
We are developing an in-person workshop space! We’re building an herb farm on our land to grow as many herbs as we can for our product line, Natura Sophia Spagyrics, and we’re building a beautiful manufacturing facility there with a state-of-the-art spagyrics lab. Along with that, we will be building out a workshop space. Many of you have been requesting in-person workshops, so I want you to know that it’s in development. It will take a lot of work to get there. The buildings out there are in rough shape, and we’re working with some old barns that need to be fixed up and made proper. But we’re really excited to develop a live workshop component to juxtapose our online coursework. We’ll post updates as the farm, lab, clinic, and workshop space are developed, so stay tuned.
We’re republishing a fully revamped version of Alchemical Herbalism under a new name (TBD). This version will include a more in-depth exploration of the topics I cover in my book, Evolutionary Herbalism. This project has been in production for 3 years, so I’m really excited to launch it later this year.
Our new version of Botanical Constellations will be published this March. So we’ll be running the new updated version of constellations. Be sure to sign up for that in March when it goes live. In just a few weeks, we’ll be offering The Herbal Monograph Map, our free workshop series on how to build your own holistic, clinically relevant monographs. And we’ll be doing a special enrollment period for Material Medica Monthly. It’s a great discount that we only offer once a year, so be sure to check that out in a couple of weeks.
My big project for this year is to revamp Astro-Herbalism. It will be a much larger, more in-depth course, and I’m planning to co-teach it with my good friend Tyler Penor. He’s the one who makes these videos look so beautiful, and he’s also an astrologer and teaches at his own School of Living Astrology. So we’re considering melding our minds in Astro-Herbalism 2.0, which I’m very excited about.
Of course, we will continue to publish multiple pieces of free content each month for the entire Evolutionary Herbalism community on the Plant Path. The goal is to deliver two fresh pieces to you each month, plus some revamped content from previously published pieces you may not have seen. And then at the end of each month, we have our custom-curated Monthly Distillate.
I’m working on an integrated model for the Evolutionary Herbalism coursework to chart a clear pathway for learning my model of herbal medicine. Many people see our courses and think they’re all separate, but there is a specific pathway through them and a logical, structured way to go through the content to build yourself toward the goal of becoming an evolutionary herbalist. To be able to work with the plants, to bring about transformational levels of healing through the synergy of clinical herbalism, medical astrology, and chemical pharmacy. So I’m excited to rework how our courses interconnect and show it to you in a very clear way.
I hope to participate in some live herb conferences again this year. My team and I went to the International Herb Symposium last year. We had a booth, and I taught a session; it was a lot of fun, so I’m looking forward to getting out and doing another conference or two this year.
Our goal here at the School of Evolutionary Herbalism is to keep you busy learning and studying, whether you pay for our courses or not. We’re always striving to grow, become more sophisticated, more refined, and impactful, and to benefit you. The whole point is to help you become a better herbalist and bring greater levels of healing to you, your family, your community, and your clinic.
So that’s the 2025 recap, and a little of what’s coming up for 2026. Again, I wish you all a happy New Year today. Thank you once again. I really appreciate you being part of our community and having the courage to walk this plant path. It’s not an easy path to be an herbalist. Practically speaking, in terms of figuring out how to support yourself as an herbalist and finding the time to learn everything that you need to learn to do it well. But we don’t do it because of an idea or a thought up here in the mind. We do it because there’s a calling inside our hearts. There’s a calling from the plants and from nature. There’s a calling to be of service to humanity, to help people heal, and to try to do something good with this life that we’re given.
I’m doing my best to support you, and my team and I are working hard to get the teachings out to you. Thank you for receiving it, for being open to it, and for learning from what I have to share. My hope is that it serves you well and that you can do something good with it. Many blessings to you in your life and on your plant path. Let’s have a great 2026, and let’s see how many people we can help heal and have a positive impact on this year.

The Herbal Monograph Map
Have you ever looked up an herb and been disappointed with a list of actions or a few brief sentences saying what it’s “good for?”
And after reading a “monograph” like this, have you felt like you still don’t really understand that plant?
Plants, like people, can’t be reduced to a few sentences or a list. To be an effective herbalist you have to understand your plants beyond just what symptoms they’re “good for.”
And that means you need a solid herbal monograph with the essential, clinically relevant information that leads to its effective use.
You ultimately need The Herbal Monograph Map, a free workshop series from The School of Evolutionary Herbalism.
We begin Monday, January 19th. Click the button below to join the waitlist:
